Meeting of Worlds (Kagome) - Posted Jun 5, 2018 11:42:58 GMT -7

Visiting a shrine had been on Anna's list of things to do while in Japan, but it hadn't been so far up on the list. She had wanted to better know what she was doing, first, so that she wouldn't look like a dumb tourist and make a fool out of herself. And even now she was hoping to avoid that, but there was more of a purpose to her visit now. The encounter a few nights before was still fresh in her mind, and she now fully realized why the Kuzunoha Office didn't know what was going on. The shadow-like creatures, and the 'Persona' that the man they'd attempted to save had summoned, were both completely beyond her realm of experience. Charging in guns blazing wasn't going to work, and now she found herself with a more urgent need to make proper contacts beyond simply touching base with the office she'd been loaned to. And what better place to start than the beautiful shrine maiden who'd also engaged the strange creatures they'd encountered that night? She had mentioned a Shiranoma Shrine, which a few minutes of Google searching had turned up past the residential area of Sanyo Sun. She'd waited a few days only to let things settle down and to try to learn more about what had happened, but she hadn't found anything that anyone else couldn't have found as well. "Oh well," she said, reflecting on this as she made her way up the steps to the shrine grounds. "I'm not sure if it would be more reassuring to hear she knows more, or that it's not just me stuck at square one."KAGOME SAITŌ

Another day, another round of her chores to make sure that the Shrine was in order.
Of course, she'd already finished them now though.
So here she was, having a hot cup of tea as she sat on the veranda in the back of the shrine. Her legs hung off the edge, hanging just above the water of the small pond that was behind the building proper. It was always a relaxing sort of sight, one that served to soothe whatever troubles were on her mind. And given recent events, there was certainly trouble on her mind. Between all the supernatural creatures and now other supernatural powers developing in people as well, such as that "Persona" of the man she recently met in the strange fog.
And now? Now she still had no answers. Only questions. Questions that could only be solved by delving deeper into the strange sights of the city. But organizing such an expedition was another matter, to put it simply.
A moment more and Kagome craned her head back slightly. Had she heard something...? Yes, yes she did. Sound tended to travel well around the Shrine given it's relatively isolated position from the bulk of Sanyo. Finishing up her cup of tea, she briefly stepped back inside to rinse and put the cup away. After doing so, she walked the lip of the Shrine, from the back around to the front. There she saw the sight of a familiar foreigner.
"Welcome to the Shiranoma Shrine."

As Anna reached the top of the steps, she shifted her parasol (most certainly a normal, albeit unusually sturdy, one, and not one hiding a shotgun) to her shoulder, and let her eyes wander around the shrine grounds. It was quite well kept - certainly better maintained than the old church in her hometown. On the other hand, she also had almost no knowledge of what anything on the grounds was. Was there a specific place she was supposed to go first? Anywhere she wouldn't be allowed into? Anna had no idea. Well, fortunately, she hadn't come to the shrine to worship. She was here to meet the shrine maiden from the other night. A faint blush colored Anna's cheek as she thought about the outfit that shrine maiden had worn then, which she would have not expected to see in reality while in Japan. That blush faded, replaced by a simple and almost peaceful smile as she caught sight of the shrine maiden emerging from behind one of the largest building. It seemed she did have normal clothes as well. "Thank you. Kagome Saito-san, was it?" Anna answered, giving the shrine maiden a small bow. Her Japanese, though still far from perfect, was a little better. Seems she'd been practicing in the last few days. "I was hoping to meet you again and touch base about the mess from the other night, seeing as we were a bit preoccupied at the time."KAGOME SAITŌ

Unfortunately for Anna, Kagome wasn't dressed quite so revealing this time. Instead, her garb was the more traditional sort of attire, easily what would have been expected for someone of her position rather than what the native woman had been wearing during their first meeting.
"That is correct, Anna-san."
Kagome adopted a patient tone given that she was dealing with a foreigner. Though she did briefly raise an eyebrow as Anna continued. 'Touch' her again'? No, she no doubt meant 'meet' her again. Deciding not to speak on the matter just yet, Kagome simply nodded as Anna finished speaking.
"I see. Well, come in then. I'll prepare some tea if you'd like. Please remove your shoes at the entrance."

Yes, Kagome looked much more the part of a shrine maiden now, rather than some sort of anime character. She could certainly fantasize about her fellow devil summoner's other outfit, but for the moment, there were more important matters to discuss, and she didn't need that image distracting her from those discussions. She could tell that Kagome was being patient with her, which was a relief as she was pretty sure she'd fumbled her words a bit and said something a bit more suggestive. But she'd gotten her meaning across, at least (probably), and Kagome invited her inside. Anna thanked her, and did as she was asked, removing her shoes at the entrance. That much, at least, she did know to do from her experience (and coworkers' advice) so far. "Some tea would be nice. Thank you very much," she said, entering the shrine behind Kagome. KAGOME SAITŌ
