[attr="class","infobg"] [attr="class","infoTitle"]General Rules [attr="class","infoBody"] Respect Please show respect to everyone on the site: the staff, the members and guests. Please do not alienate or fight the members. Please do not pick fights with the staff, try to take over or run the site. Suggestions and help are appreciated but please respect our boundaries. If you have a problem with a staff or a member, pm the staff! As we said time again, please and thank you. Drama You are not required to like everyone on the site. However, passive-aggressive, heated, or disdainful commentary is not allowed on the forum or in the Cbox. Grievances If you have an issue with another member, take it up with them personally and privately. If you cannot come to a peaceful resolution, please involve members of the staff. As a tip, if you are going to file a grievance then please include evidence of the issue taking place, such as chat logs and screenshots. Advertising The advertisement board is the only place where other forums may be formally advertised. Keep it out of the Cbox. HOWEVER, if you have A Cool Thing like a game or video that you want to show people, it is okay to link it in the chat. Plagiarism It is not tolerated. If we see signs of plagiarism we will ask for you to take the stuff down. Mature Content Proboards has a policy against adult content (pornography, extreme representations of gore and violence, etc.) that we have adopted. You can read it here, but I'm going to quote it in its entirety in about five seconds. If anything goes over that line In Character then please use the fade to black method in threads and take it to private messaging OFF SITE. No graphic pictures, no links to inappropriate content. Do Not Pester Most of us are adults in some way or form -- realize that as such, we have priorities off site that we must attend to. It is okay to give a nudge to your roleplay partner and ask what their status is if they have not replied to a post in several days or a week without notice. It is NOT okay to needle them every time you see them online or heckle them through Private Messages. [attr="class","infoInner"]Follow the rules. You're old enough to understand the difference between right and wrong. We will enforce site policies through warnings, suspensions, and bans.

[attr="class","infobg"] [attr="class","infoTitle"]Character & Posting Rules [attr="class","infoBody"]Accounts This site is a one account per character. We do not have OOC accounts. When you register, please format your account display name and Arcana section as follows using all capital letters:
Display Name: YU NARUKAMI Arcana: 0 (roman numeral system) - THE FOOL
Display Name: KEN AMADA Arcana: VIII - JUSTICE
Etc.
Icons Forum icons must be at least 100x100 in dimension. Please do not use pictures with dimensions that are not square (i.e. 100x100 is okay, but 100x150 is not).
Face Claims Your face claims should come from anime or manga. Video game face claims are acceptable if drawn in animanga format. Please ask the staff if you wish to use face claims from cartoons or western comics. Original Art of your character is okay too. If you need help finding resources for a specific face claim, Sagi is fairly knowledgeable. Other members may also be able to assist.
SMT Face Claims You are permitted to use canon characters from the SMT and Persona games as a face claim. However, remember that this is an Alternate Universe site. Don't go trying to slip a canon character under our noses.
Ripoffs Do not create a carbon copy of the character you're using your face claim for. That means that you should not create a brooding yet secretly gentle character who loves to cook and feed dogs if your face claim is, say, Shinjiro Aragaki from Persona 3.
Character Flaws You are not perfect and neither is your muse. It is important to create a character who has a fair balance or good traits and bad habits. We assume that you have at least marginal experience with writing characters if you are trying to app to our site, and as such will grade profiles accordingly.
God-Modding/Power Playing Don't do it. Don't. Do. It. If you do not know what these terms are, please reconsider apping to the forum until you educate yourself.
Controversial Content If you intend to employ a character trait or dynamic that even for a second provokes the thought "would some people be uncomfortable with this?", it would be a good idea to not employ it. If nothing else, send staff members a question before going ahead with the idea.
Literacy You are expected to write in paragraph form when roleplaying on our site. Third person past tense is preferred, but if you can manage to write in first person past or present tense, we will permit it. 'Chatspeak' is not permitted in roleplays that are not simulating online chats.
Word Count We do not enforce a strict word count, but a good rule of thumb is to try and be courteous to your roleplay partner and match length to the best of your ability. Some writers can churn out 1000 word posts all day and all night while others may only be capable of a short paragraph or two. Make the effort to match your partner within reason and communicate to them if it is difficult to do so.
Speaking of Communication DO IT. One of the most important aspects of good roleplay is clear communication between all writers involved. If you are uncomfortable with a concept, if you want to introduce a concept, or even just to chat - writers that talk to one another outside of their posts tend to enjoy better threads than those who do not.
Character Limits Outside of class-specific character limits, you may write out as many characters as you want. However, we expect you to maintain reasonable activity on all of your muses. If you are the type who enjoys creating a dozen characters just to have the real estate while only writing one or two, please refrain from doing so.
