Appearance
Face Claim: Senjougahara Hitagi, Monogatari
Standing at five-foot-three, there are only the faintest traces in her build remaining of a sportier athleticism she seems to have left behind; hints of heartier musculature most remain in her legs and abdomen. Like her twin brother, Noa sports long dark purple hair, usually worn straight or in a high ponytail - unlike him, her eyes are a bright blue, but just as keen. She is admittedly quite youthful in appearance, often unintentionally confusing others as to her true age.
She usually dons smart, chic clothing; cute but sophisticated dresses or skirts with knee/thigh-high socks. Once she's comfortably in the privacy of her own home, however, it's all baggy pajama bottoms and snug tank tops.
PersonalityLikes: Astronomy,
literature, occult, thunder storms, romantics and people who follow their passions.
Dislikes: Boastfulness, food that's gone cold, dog-earring books, romantics and people who take themselves too seriously.
Hobbies: Stargazing, video games, urban exploration, cooking.
Goals: She generally doesn't like planning too far in advance, but having fun/enjoying herself is usually at the top of her list in any given moment. She's a bit hedonistic.
Outgoing and independent, Noa is a seeming Pandora's Box of contradictions - or covers that are both clever and desperate. Being fairly disillusioned, she hides herself behind walls and underneath pretty trappings, but beneath it all is a young woman who has dreams and aspirations for a happy life, and beneath her cynicism is a romantic who believes in all the things she would outwardly eschew or even criticize; fantasies, love, and the 'bonds of friendship'.
However she tells herself there is no place for that kind of person in reality, and seems to bear past emotional wounds that have led her to this belief. While she can at times be blunt almost to the point of appearing callous and enjoys playfully teasing others, she will often put on airs of friendliness and even flirtation to get along. She is also rather physical, leading to lots of close contact, or getting in other peoples bubbles. It isn't entirely out of any sort of meanspiritedness or deeper manipulation, but again, partially-constructed facades to navigate her way through the world. There are any number of situations in which it may not be a farce at all, but just as many times when she herself can't quite tell anymore... Perhaps because of this, she is a pretty good actress, conveying emotions as she wants very well - to the point she even considered drama club in her youth.
While she doesn't generally care for the opinions of others - betraying a certain measure of pride and highheadedness, she seems to have an image of herself she wishes to convey to others; strong, independent, sophisticated, calm - though that doesn't mean she's always good at pulling it off, it is a version of herself she nevertheless aspires to. Something of a hedonist at heart, she is somewhat selfish and is almost always ready to spoil herself - especially for her own amusement.
While having a rather lackluster outlook on the future (a subject she tends to avoid), she has a passion for studying, especially in regards to her personal interests which can admittedly change about somewhat capriciously. (Note: Her greatest and most enduring interests are in the stars and the occult.) This does not necessarily pertain to school studies, where she gets by, but doesn't generally put in very much effort. Getting bored easily, she will often move from one subject or interest to the next, and likewise doesn't seem to have ever had a steady group of friends - but nor does she seem to make any outright enemies, never close enough to others to really step on anyone's toes.
Despite having reasonably decent socializing skills, she isn't usually capable of readily accepting help from others whatsoever. Like many, she has a somewhat complicated relationship with the concept of 'trust', and instead prefers to rely on herself. This also makes her fairly selfish as a result, usually looking out for number one and almost oblivious to the needs of others around her - almost, but not quite.
She is in general fairly perceptive and empathetic, but has a tendency to ignore these things if it isn't in her interests. That isn't to say she doesn't care for others, but if somethings in the way of her well-being or fragile happiness, she'll do anything to get rid of it. Likewise, if something precious to her is threatened, she will defend that -or them- as well, as a result of this selfish nature.

HistoryBorn in Japan alongside her twin brother, Itsuki, they moved to America in their early years, following their mothers work as a college professor and researcher. During that time Chiyuki was born, and even as a toddler Noa fawned over and adored her baby sister. They lived there for almost eight years when their grandmother on their fathers side passed away, prompting the family to return to Japan and take over the family flower shop, living in the large, old rural family home on the outskirts of Sanyo. This was a move the young siblings didn't take very kindly to at first; the solemn circumstances surrounding the move had colored their perception of their new home, as well as the unpleasant and obvious factor of leaving behind the life they knew. Being kids, their tantrums didn't last overlong though as they settled in.
During her time in American schools, Noa had been a victim to bullying on more than one occasion, yet in spite of this, she ultimately found friends she loved and cherished. Losing them, she begrudged the decision to move, and feared similar treatment in her new school. While this fear never came to pass, she still had a hard time fitting in and making friends. Trouble instead came in the form of her uncle, who had been missing during his mothers decline, and only now came with the hopes of laying claim to the family home and business. At first, his visits were genial and respectful; warm attempts and bonding with his nieces and nephews who he had never before had the chance to meet. Noa, likewise, was excited at this prospect. Her siblings, who had been her closest remaining friends, had made plenty of their own in their classes - her uncle Shirou, who was sympathetic to her plights, became her new best friend.
Young as she was, she didn't quite understand for some time the ill moods that arose between him and her parents. He began trying to persuade them to go back to America and resume their life there, and to Noa's ears, it sounded like he was championing her cause. In no short time, however, he left without a word, and her parents were remiss to unfold the whole truth of the matter to their heartbroken daughter. As the years wore on, and life moved on, she did glean her own understanding of the situation, but told herself that regardless of the truth, none of it really mattered, perceiving her uncle as having used her to further his own goals.
There was nothing particularly special or unusual about this story, even Noa herself was aware of that much, and that apart from even this unfortunately typical scenario, her life was generally very plain. She moved through school without much interest; she loved the stars, and even dreamed of being an astronaut in her youth, but ultimately grew jaded about such a far-reaching dream, as many kids often do. She dabbled in this and that and moved from one group of friends to the next often, participated in track club and once or twice helped fill in for the drama club, but usually abandoned almost every endeavor she set out for. There was certainly a streak of teenage rebelliousness in her as well, a need to go against the grain, which resulted in more than one physical altercation - though she was either clever or fortunate enough (or more likely, a bit of both) to avoid getting into any serious trouble.
Presently, she is a college student majoring in astronomy, but really just kind of floating around while working at her families flower shop and generally being a bit of a directionless layabout. Few would be able to tell -and other would be hard-pressed to believe- that nearly a year ago her life had changed irrevocably.
As was often the case, she was out late one night after meeting with several friends for drinks when, as one might foresee, she stumbled upon an unfortunate and altogether unpleasant altercation. Thinking perhaps the drink had been too strong, or she'd unwittingly passed out and now suffered from a wild alcohol-induced nightmare, she watched in hapless confusion as a young man commanded strange creatures to fight
equally strange creatures on his behalf. Nearly made into a most displeased hostage, she nevertheless had her wits about her enough to
attempt to free herself from such an unflattering situation - albeit not with very much elegance or grace.
Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, for her, she had kept the interest of certain spirits much of her life. When she and her brother were born, their grandmother had given them peculiar, hand-made charms she said would protect them. The truth is much less benign, or innocent - though the extent of that truth is also all but lost after her grandmothers passing. Strange, peculiar forces had kept close to Noa much of her life; playful, but mean-spirited wisps that followed her to foreign lands they disliked. Small and subtle, and out-of-sight, they gave her a peculiar aura others sometimes shied away from. For the most part, they seemed to have little effect on her life, though one might also wonder at what small misfortunes they might have drawn to her doorstep.
On this night, however, they brought a boon in the form of Tamamo no Mae. Taken shortly after the incidents conclusion to the Kuzunoha offices, she began her life as a Devil Summoner. Only a year in, and she still has much to learn, while admittedly trying at times to simply avoid the whole business entirely. Tamamo no Mae, of course, would never let that happen.
Equipment? ? ? - An old, seemingly nameless, but nevertheless well-kept tanto that had a place of pride in her grandmothers house, said to have been passed down in the family for generations. (Slash Damage)
In a pinch she's capable with her fists and, more preferably, strong kicks. (Strike Damage)
A locket with an inlaid gemstone hanging from a long silver chain necklace. The gem has the appearance of dragons breath opal, however the intricate colors sometimes shift subtly, particularly in response or when around other supernatural occurrences. The locket does not appear to open (or at least not easily), and contains the magnetite she uses for summoning.
NotesSo anyway, I wanted to go with something a lil more simple and classic, if a bit cliché at times. The fun stuff's gonna be where we go from here, right?
I was purposely a little vague on the final details surrounding her stumbling into DeSu life, in part because I'd like to flesh it out in roleplay more through discussion and interaction. Lemme know if anything needs any clearing up though!
