Below a head of messy, naturally wavy silvery-white hair peeks out a pair of narrowed red eyes. His build is rather muscular, given his time in the military, and his skin ranges from fair to lightly tanned. Little nicks and scars can be found all over his body. Jun usually sports an easygoing smile and a relaxed, nonchalant demeanor.[break][break] He can typically be found dressed head to toe in black — black pants, black boots, and a black shirt. His shirt is short-sleeved, with a red trim along the collar (popped up, always) and sleeves. Above all this, he wears a white yukata with a swirling blue pattern along the bottom and at the hem of the sleeves. He keeps his right arm out of the yukata for mobility. When working for long periods at the Kuzunoha Office, he typically switches to business casual instead, donning a colorful button-up and tie. A lab coat and reading glasses complete the ensemble. A self-proclaimed optimist, Asakura Jun is, on the surface, a rather carefree individual. Cheerful and easygoing, he approaches everything life throws at him with a decided lack of seriousness, intentionally hiding his thoughts and secrets behind a sillier, more ignorant facade. As a result, he can be rather deceitful, often lying or evading questions he would rather not answer. He can also be quite the sweet-talker, playful and flirtatious in turns, but when it comes to that, he's a lot of bark and not a lot of bite, better at running his mouth and seemingly quick to flee when things go south.[break][break]
In truth, Jun's brighter exterior belies his quick mind and dark streak. His mind is a calculating one, making him intelligent and resourceful, and as it stands, he’s stubborn to the point of single-mindedness when he focuses on a goal or the newest thing that’s caught his interest. He can also be extremely ruthless when he encounters obstacles, and this combined with his hard-won but extreme brand of loyalty will find him willing to do virtually anything to ensure the continued survival and well-being of himself and those of importance to him. As a result, selfishness makes up a very large part of his character, though this may not be obvious immediately.[break][break]
At his core, Jun is a firm subscriber of nihilism. This is the greatest reason for his displays of near-reckless fearlessness. Because he does not regard consequences lightly, he is typically not a risk-taker unless he has contingency plans upon contingency plans and knows for sure he has a way out alive. He also has great confidence in his abilities, a confidence that is not entirely unfounded as he was raised to be a highly competent individual by an extremely unforgiving parent.[break][break]
Jun can be fairly melancholic and straight-forward when he drops his light-hearted attitude. Introspective by nature, he understands that his morals and values cross a line that many refuse to cross. There is a deep-seated bitterness that comes with knowing this, and given that he deems most people too spineless to do what is necessary, he easily falls into a habit of valuing people based on their usefulness or potential. Vengeance is but a natural punishment to those who wrong him and his, and when extremely angered, he can escalate into maniacal.
[attr="class","app-section-title"]History [attr="class","app-long-row-last"] [attr="class","app-long-title"]Family: [attr="class","app-long-field"]Seiya Asakura (father, missing) [attr="class","app-section"]
You are eleven when you meet the man who is your father, a man who is too tall, too stern, with eyes as red as your own. Seyeon is immediately smitten. To her, Asakura Seiya is the validation of her every desperate hope for reclamation. So that her family will come for her. So that she will not have been abandoned by her blood. These are the fears that Nekomata whispers to you in the dark of every night, fears that your closest friend whispers to herself during every prayer time.[break][break]
But even though you know how Seyeon feels, you have never completely understood her. Why return to those who have long cast you aside? You ponder this now as you stare at the man who claims himself your father, and you ponder this still as you watch the ensuing celebration move into full swing. The church is somewhere you had always known you would leave, but not like this. Never like this.[break][break]
(Somewhere in your heart of hearts, you could admit that you that had loved them. All of them. Even that annoying Lee Minjae, who had always tried to steal everyone's food. You had loved the off-key organ, and the billowing white ghosts left to dry in the sun on every Sunday, and the way everyone had tried to make the most of it all despite their chipped mugs and cracked hearts.[break][break]
And perhaps it is their love for you that had seen them so enthusiastically push for you to leave with your father. Eleven is old enough for you to understand that, old enough for you to feel the weight of all their hopes pressed against your shoulders. A better life. A better future. Sometimes you wonder if Seyeon realizes that the one who abandoned her was actually you.)[break][break]
Japan may only be a sea away from your old home, but it is an entire lifetime away from your old self. Under your father's watchful gaze, you peel away your skin – meat to be stripped and eaten between each vicious slash of words and dinner knives. When you are left with naught but bones, your father relishes in their breaking, teeth cracking them apart to taste sweet marrow.[break][break]
And when finally, he is sure that nothing of you remains, he remakes you.[break][break]
It is Nekomata who watches you lose yourself in pieces. It is Nekomata who weeps for the life that you have lost. Jihoon, Jihoon, she cries and cries, but you no longer know the words to comfort her. And even if you did, she is right to mourn, because the boy who was Kim Jihoon no longer exists here. There is only Asakura Jun, the obedient, high-performing young son of an ambitious Japanese politician, who will grow up to make his father proud.[break][break]
("Let me teach you how to regain your fangs and claws," Nekomata hisses once she is done weeping. She has cried out all her sorrow, and now only anger remains; you can see it in the arch of her back and the lash of her tails. "Your mother's contract with me expires in only two more years. Before then, I will teach you what it takes to tame a demon.")[break][break]
Eighteen is the year you have been waiting for, because eighteen is the year you finally make your move. You dig your heels in as hard as you can and invoke your Korean citizenship – dual, for your father is conniving, his machinations already in place and turning the moment he learned of your conception eighteen years ago – and return to the nation of your birth. The two years you spend fulfilling your conscription go by quickly and quietly. When that is done, you return to your father's side just as quietly, allow him believe that he still has his hold on you.[break][break]
As per his wishes, you give up your Korean citizenship the moment you are back in Japan. It doesn't bother you – your attachment to your past is gone, a strength that you have found during your time in the military, and during your time before that under the tutelage of Nekomata. Your mother's demon has taught you well. If it is your father who turned your heart into one of coal, then it is Nekomata who set that heart aflame with righteous rage. And rage you will, for now you are wiser, stronger, and not about to obey the will of the one who made you who you are today.[break][break]
(Looking back, you realize that you were never really your mother's son. How can you be, when you cannot remember her face, or the sound of her voice, or the way she touched you? No, it has always been that little, white, two-tailed cat who stayed by your side, first out of obligation, and later out of something more.[break][break]
"Goodbye, Jihoon," she whispers to you half an hour before the day you turn eighteen. This is the last time you will be able to have her curl on your chest, the last time you will be able to feel the softness of her fur. You think of all that she has done for you, all the support and care she has given you, and you think you know.[break][break]
"Goodbye, mother," you whisper back, and her answering flash of fangs is gleeful before she disappears.)[break][break]
Sanyo is quieter than the bustle of Tokyo that you're used to, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Samael thinks it's a little boring, but you didn't spend the last year convincing your father to come here because of how peaceful the city seems to be. No, from what your demon has told you, there's something far more interesting lurking beneath the surface, and you have always found it funny that your father still thinks he has you under his thumb.[break][break]
The disappearance of a lesser known politician in a city full of opposing business and political forces is sure to form only the barest ripples in the water. And if, in the year that you've stayed here, you have yet to find news of his whereabouts, then it can't hurt to stay a little longer and enjoy what the city has to offer... Right?[break][break]
(You laugh and you laugh and you laugh.)
[attr="class","app-section-title"]Equipment [attr="class","app-section"]
» Wooden Katana - A wooden katana that seems to be a souvenir from somewhere. The carvings on the "hilt" are faded and all but gone. Really just a glorified stick. Transforms into a real katana in Prison to deal slash damage.[break][break]
» Kunai - A series of cosplay kunai that Jun bought on a whim. For whatever reason, he finds them hilarious. Turns into real kunai in Prison to deal pierce damage.[break][break]
» Forehead Protector - What kind of fake ninja would he be if he didn't have one of these? However, nothing seems to be engraved on it. Its sash is long and white. Seems to be worn in Prison just to confuse people.[break][break]
» Clipper lighter & cigarettes - Never know when you'll need 'em.[break][break]
» Pocket Watch - An old pocket watch that serves as a memento from Jun's mother. It has a fancy-looking cross motif on its cover. Though it can no longer be easily opened, it contains the magnetite Jun needs for demon shenanigans.
[attr="class","app-section-title"]Notes [attr="class","app-section"]
» Some secrets are not meant to be revealed.[break][break]
» Though Jun's mother was deceased for much of his life, she left him her pocket watch, the medium with which she summoned her own demon, Nekomata. Nekomata was contractually obliged to watch over her son until the day he turned eighteen, after which Jun summoned his own demon, Samael. Though it has been some time since he was summoned, Sameal remains relatively weak as he rarely does anything but chat with other birds.[break][break]
» His major in college was computer science. As a result, the information he deals with is not only supernatural, but also mundane. In the same way, his odd jobs service encompasses both supernatural and mundane work.[break][break]
» Despite not being a morning person by nature, his upbringing has given him the habit of waking early in the morning. His time in the military has transformed this into morning training. He alternates days for physical training and target practice, the latter taking place in Prison.

[attr="class","app-section-title"]Description [attr="class","app-section"]
Samael is an archangel from Talmudic lore. He has been known as the seducer, destroyer, accuser and has been regarded as both good and evil in various texts. One of Samael's greatest roles in Jewish lore is that of the main archangel of death. Though he condones the sins of man, he remains as one of God's servants. There are some theories that he is actually a fallen angel, but he is also sometimes regarded as a demon in Christian demonology.[break][break]
Takes the form of a small crow when not in demonic form. Seems to be able to communicate with other birds, and helps gather information outside the Prisons this way.
