Basics Full Name: Cameron Marcus Faulkner Nickname(s): Cam, Ron Age, D.O.B.: 17, March 7 Gender: Male Category: Civillian (Future Persona-User) Arcana: XI - Strength Grade/Career: Third Year Student, Mishiro High Ethnicity: American Family: Jennifer Faulkner (Mother, 48) Lewis J. Faulkner (Father, 50) Alfred Faulkner (Brother, 24) Thomas Faulkner (Brother, 24) Lewis J. Faulkner Jr. (Brother, 24) Appearance
Cameron is a tall lad, standing in at an even six feet. He has an untamed haircut that is only cut if regulation demands so with his Dad’s headband tied tightly around his large forehead. He has a beige complexion and tends to tan easily and his hands are rough to the touch because of his daily regiment. Despite his career, the young man is clear of any of the usual boxer signs. No cauliflower ear or misshapen noses here. The boy wouldn’t hear the end of it if he’d sown up for dinner with those types of bruises. No, any hits he takes is usually taken to the gut, but every now and again he’ll gut a scrape on the cheek that’ll break skin, so he usually has a small bandage on after every match because of a stray fist. He wears a red muscle shirt sporting his school’s emblem on the left breast here in Japan, though he tries his best to hide it under his black blazer in the fall. His fall attire is finished with a pair of black jeans and a pair of daily chosen running sneakers.
Personality Likes: Boxing, Tough Opponents, Eating, Exercise, Flexing, Flexing in the Mirror, Flexing in Front of Others, His Body, Girls
Dislikes: Surrendering, Opponents who surrender, Sand, Letting People Down, Not being strong enough Hobbies: Jogging, Boxing, Swimming, Working Out, Games of Chance Goals: Make his parents proud
Cameron is a simple man. He follows simple ideals: be nice to others, hold the door for people behind you, don't swear in public. Simple stuff taught to every kid who isn't a delinquent. Of course, there was stuff he wouldn't do around his parents that now, he'd jump on the chance to. For, all of his bravado and physical strength, Cameron is very easily confused and talked into situations he has no part of. He doesn't mind it really, after all for as long as he's been the way he is, the people he knew never came to him in hopes of school help, no they came for the hulking, hormonal, young man that is Cameron Faulkner. So why should he mind? It's just another way to show off his proudest achievement.
He's a bit of a hot-head, often only giving a moment's thought to say whatever comes to mind. Now that doesn't mean he'd go around randomly insulting people, he's got a bit more self control than that. It's just y'know, every now and again he might say something that may or may not be taken as an insult. Yeah, Cameron isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's a hard worker and priority number one is becoming a bit more learned and a better people person. After all he'd get hell from his parents if someone from another country came to them just to complain about their youngest son. Well priority number 2, nothing is more important than boxing right now.
With three older brothers Cameron has always felt the need to prove himself. To him, his brother's were everything, idols, mentors, teachers. If everyone was against him, he knew for sure that his brothers would always be by his side. Somewhere along the line he started to grow jealous of the three, they were big, strong men who he just wanted to be as big, and as strong as. So he did what he thought he should. He challenged them to a fight, and another, and another, and another. Each fight, no matter which sibling he fought, ended in his defeat. It didn't stop his drive, he was going to get to their status. He still isn't over his one-sided sibling rivalry and still strives to be stronger than they are. Better than they are. He knows now that he is by far stronger than them now, but it still doesn’t feel that way. That there is something missing from him that all three of them now have. Whatever it is, he’ll work hard till he has it too. No, until he has MORE of it than them, if that’s possible. Is it possible?
With his brothers always doing something impressive, Cameron has never really has the chance to garner praise, so the few chances when he does he tends to let it go to far to his head. Now, being away from his family, it’s changed somewhat, he won’t be earning praise for strategy or smarts, but one thing he knows he has over everyone else is his physique. He can go a bit overboard with this as he never misses the chance to rip off his shirt and show them to anyone who he believes doubts him.
What Cameron values more than anything else is strength. He’s always felt that if he couldn’t convey his feelings to someone that he always could through a fight. Now, that doesn’t mean he’d go around punching random people if he couldn’t force a word out, he isn’t some delinquent. That’s what boxing is for. He’s always been able to let go and keep calm, hitting away at his coaches pads, or punching a sandbag until he couldn’t anymore. Fighting another person in the ring is by far his favorite though, putting all of your feelings into your fists just feels natural to him. His feelings hit hard though, and no one yet has been able to take him down in the ring and he’ll try is hardest to make sure it stays that way.
One thing he hates above all else is people making judgments about him by just looking at him. He knows he can be a bit imposing sometimes but that shouldn’t make him hard to approach. He’s just a normal young man after all: He likes to laugh, hang out, try his chances with the ladies, play video games, and well, box.
History
Cameron Faulkner is the youngest of four sons reared by Jennifer and Lewis Faulkner. The couple made a decent living, acceptable as middle class in America. Lewis was a military man and when his family began to gather more bodies he found himself as a master sergeant in the U.S. Army reserves, while Jennifer was a Per Diem Nurse at a local hospital. To say Cameron loved his parents would be an understatement; he absolutely adored the two and in his own way, tried to impress the two whenever he got the chance.
Though if he were asked, “Who is the most influential person in your life?” he’d quickly answer his three older brothers. The three were his elder by a modest 7 years and when he was growing up, the boys were basically attached at the hip. Cameron idolized them, and was always trying to find ways to be with them. When they went out with their friends, he’d try to sneak out with them. When they were playing their games, he’d try to be the fourth player and when the brothers competed with one another, Cameron would always try to sneak his way into the same competition.
As he and his brothers started to age, he became agitated. His brothers were starting to grow up and stop doing what they used to, and just as he got old enough to understand exactly what they were doing years prior. They were high school kids now, and were always studying, so being the annoying little brother he was. Cameron would always find ways to agitate them and fight with them. Sure they still had their moments when they would all get together and do something but it wasn’t like how he was when Cameron was young.
He was especially annoyed when he began getting the same teachers that taught his brothers. Cameron wasn’t as gifted as his brothers when it came to academics. It seemed like he had to work twice as hard for what naturally came to them, and the various teachers didn’t waste a second to point that out. Of course, when this rage reached its peak, he went to go fight his brothers and as always he'd be the one scratched and bruised and to top it all off he'd be the one to get the stern talk from his parents. His father became tired with this trend, noticing the gap between these rages would get shorter and shorter by the week, so he did the one thing any parent would do for a kid with endless amounts of energy and an attitude to boot; find an outlet and boxing was just that. Little did the eldest Faulkner know how much the sport would shape Cameron's life.
Boxing was his way out; no one was a better boxer in the family than him. He was well-versed in pugilism and it showed in the ring. His body began to develop, and as he continued aging it became more apparent. He was proud of it, it was his own and he couldn't help but smile as he watched his body grow and fill. Sadly, his grudge against his brothers was still there, but whenever his rage reached it's peak he'd go back to the sandbag, expel all of that energy and come back smiles. As time passed it just got to the point where Cameron being seen with his goofy smile was just the norm.
Soon his brothers were off on their own, while he was still with his family. Competitions came and went and Cameron has kept his undefeated title, making a name for himself finally separate from his older brothers. The summer before his senior year Lewis received odd news. He was to be stationed in Japan, specifically Sanyo. Cameron couldn't be bothered to remember the details of the assignment but living in Japan? He had gotten awfully close to his friends in town but to pass up time in Japan? No, that was just out of the questions, not that he had a choice as a dependent of the older Faulkners.
