[attr="class","glassname"] YULIEY ATHANAS
[attr="class","glassblurb"] [attr="class","glassthing"]FRIENDS Friends are hard for Yuliey. He's never been very sociable, and would rather be in the background by himself than with crowds of people. They make him too anxious. Perhaps he just never learned to socialize like a normal kid, and, really, that was absolutely the case. And because of this, he has a very hard time just approaching other people, let alone befriend others. His aloof mannerisms and rather inhospitable expression makes him very hard to approach, and though he's a rather lonely individual, he'll never let it show. He's insistent about being fine on his own. [break][break] It doesn't happen very often, but sometimes, if you have enough patience and manage to get into his good graces, you're gonna find someone pretty great, and pretty fragile all at once. He won't hesitate to fight on your behalf, even if he's a noodle boy. He learned the hard way how to deal with fights and fighting, and how to patch up nasty wounds on his own. And even though he has all the self-preservation tactics of a stoned lemming, he'll be as much of a voice of reason as he can (although sometimes his 'reasoning' ends up being in favor of maiming). He'll wear his heart on his sleeve with someone close, and he'll always be there for you as much as you're there for him. There's no unequal take and give with him. Either it's a balanced friendship or it's no friendship at all. He isn't afraid of cutting people out of his life if they prove to be disloyal and untrustworthy.[break][break] [attr="class","glassthing"]ENEMIES Oh man, it is so easy to make yourself an enemy in his eyes. He's not above being petty, and deems anyone around him in two categories from the beginning anyways, those being 'enemy' and 'insignificant'. Anyone who pries too much, asks too many questions, gets too close or tries to pick him apart at the seams is immediately deemed an enemy. Older adults are enemies, and anyone who has the idea of trying to harm or harass him is an enemy. He's not above making scathing remarks and pick fights, if it means that he's left alone (even if, later on in the night, he's left with awful anxiety attacks, turning over what he said over and over again, letting it eat him alive). If you even attempt to harass, belittle, or hurt his family, he definitely will full on fist fight. No one, absolutely no one hurts his family. He would go to jail before he lets anyone slander their good name or belittle any of them in any way. [break][break] Conversely, his inhospitable nature and unwillingness to engage and be friendly could rub a lot of people the wrong way, and make it very easy for him to be disliked by other people. Not to mention when he's nervous or uncomfortable, a rather wicked tongue comes out full force. He's used to being disliked though, so have fun raising his ire; he'll dish it back full force. [break][break] [attr="class","glassthing"]ROMANCES Love doesn't exist to Yuliey. It's a foreign concept to him, and something he hasn't experienced outside platonic, familial love. The whole idea of entrusting yourself to someone you barely know is a load of bullcrap to him, and he would rather walk blindfold through speeding traffic than put his trust in anyone but himself and his family, especially with his heart. That thing's been beaten, bloodied, cut and bruised to hell and back. Why would he let anyone else in after everything he's been through? How is he supposed to know you won't try and hurt him too? How is he supposed to know if your intentions are pure? He isn't in the business of blindly putting his faith into someone else. That's something whoever's interested in him is going to have to work hard for. Nothing less will get his attention. [break][break] Of course, if someone does manage to get that far (which is a slim chance, really), they'll find that Yuliey is actually incredibly endearing, and easily flustered. He has no idea how relationships work, and he'll bumble his way through one on unstable feet. He's not good with physical affection, so most of the time his s.o will get soft touches from him until he gets more comfortable. They won't be the center of his world, but they'll be a big part of it, and that's really amazing. Getting to be that close to Yuliey is downright impossible, and if they manage it, they're a certified wizard.

[attr="class","glassblurb"] [attr="class","glassthing"]FRIENDS The album begins with the protagonist, Nikki, in a hospital. He lies in a near catatonic state, unable to remember anything but snippets from his past. Suddenly, Nikki's memories come flooding back in a torrent. He remembers how, as a heroin addict and would-be political radical frustrated with contemporary society due to the economic inequality, corruption, and hypocrisy around him, he was manipulated into joining a supposed secret organization dedicated to revolution. At the head of this organization is a mysterious political and religious demagogue known only as Dr. X, who manipulates Nikki through a combination of his heroin addiction and brainwashing techniques to become an assassin.[break][break] [attr="class","glassthing"]ENEMIES Whenever Dr. X uses the word "mindcrime", Nikki becomes his docile puppet, a state which Dr. X uses to command Nikki to undertake any murder that the Doctor wishes. Through one of Dr. X's probable associates, a corrupt priest named Father William, Nikki is offered the services of a prostitute-turned-nun named Sister Mary. Through his friendship and growing affection toward Sister Mary, Nikki begins to question the nature of what he is doing, seeing that Dr. X has his own nefarious agenda. Dr. X takes notice and, seeing a potential threat in Mary to his cult of personality, orders Nikki to kill both her and the priest. Nikki goes to Mary's church and kills the priest, but, after confronting Mary, he fails to comply with the command to murder her. He and Mary decide to leave the organization together, and Nikki goes to Dr. X to tell him that they are out. Dr. X, however, reminds Nikki that he is an addict, and that he is the one who can provide him with his daily fix. Nikki leaves, conflicted and uncertain, and he returns to Mary only to find her dead.[break][break] [attr="class","glassthing"]ROMANCES Nikki cannot cope with the loss, as well as the possibility that he himself may have killed her without knowing it (whether her death occurred at his hand or at the hand of someone else such as Dr. X is left deliberately ambiguous), and he begins to succumb to insanity. He runs through the streets calling her name. The police arrive and attempt to subdue him. A gun is found on Nikki, and they take him into custody under suspicion of Mary's murder and the murders he committed for Dr. X. Suffering from an almost complete loss of memory, Nikki is put into a mental hospital, where he sees a news report on the recent spree of political homicides. This jogs his memory and returns us to the beginning where he remembers what has happened and begins to tell his story.
