Kagome stretched as she looked from the TV towards a nearby wall-mounted clock. It was a bit past 10 AM now. A good time to get started on her chores for the day after a nice breakfast and catching up on the news. Grabbing the nearby remote, she turned the TV off and rose from the couch. Yawning a bit, her usual dull expression took to the fore as she proceeded over to her bedroom, changing into her proper attire of a Shrine Maiden. Dressed in her white haori and red hakama, she next grabbed a pair of red and white ribbons. With them she tied her long violet hair back into a ponytail. Heading back into the living area of her small house, she moved towards the front door before stopping in place and groaning a bit, realizing she had forgotten something. Moving towards a closet, she opened the door to retrieve a broom before heading towards the front door once again. Slipping on a pair of geta, the miko departed her home. Stepping out onto the deck of her home, she heard a mewl, seeing a pair of white cats wondering over towards her. A small smile grew on her face before she knelt down, petting the pair of cats. She looked over at the bowls she'd left outside, almost empty. "Hm. I'll refill it in a bit. Gonna need to get some more food soon though." She spoke idly to herself before rising once more, heading towards the shrine's courtyard, her broom in hand. --- Tags: ANNA MYERSOOC: Come in whoever else as well.

Alisa rarely took trips out let alone to the shrine, but this time she decided to take the trip out because it was something her father did fairly regularly - he believed in that kind of thing, after all. Alisa was also influenced somewhat by Ongyo-Ki who itself was an oni, so Alisa felt it was only proper to at least make the effort to take visits and donate on occasion. Both her parents were killed in a tragic accident after all. Taking the scenic path up to the shrine and passing through the torii, Alisa silently kept moving on forward and stopped in place, looking forward at the shrine almost as if admiring it. Sighing inwardly, Alisa began to head onwards and go further in towards the shrine proper.
"Been a while since my last visit..." Alisa murmured.

Kagome yawned as she swept, clearing away some of the fallen leaves. Given the shrine was in one of the few untouched areas in the main areas of Sanyo, it meant that she needed to be more conscientious when it came to how she tended the grounds. Not only was there leaves after all, but blossoms from the handful of cherry blossoms that were also planted nearby the shrine itself. Really, even with the increased upkeep, Kagome had to admit that she liked them. Especially when they were in full bloom. Slow but steadily, her cleaning took her towards the main torii gate of the Shiranoma Shrine. The sound of footsteps caught her ear and she could see a brown-haired woman ascending the stairs. Finishing up what she was doing for the moment, she called out a greeting to the new arrival. "Greetings and welcome to the Shiranoma Shrine. How may I help you today?"She didn't bother with changing her expression though, her usual half-grumpy/half-bored look still upon her face. --- Tags: ALISA AYAKURA

Alisa stood still once she caught a glimpse of the shrine maiden who resided at this particular temple. She awaited the shrine maiden's approach and greeted her with a polite bow. For some reason, the influence of Ongyo-ki on her mannerisms was quite strong, she seemed to value the power of spirit and will more and more. Perhaps it was due to a realization that a strong will would allow her to communicate with her guardian spirit on equal terms, mostly so that it wouldn't look down on her as a kind of ant. After all, Ongyo-ki seemed to have some plans for her and even though they currently had a good cooperation, in the future, what would stop him from trying to take over her body fully for some strange purposes? Therefore, Alisa had gone to the shrine on occasion as a method of self-reflection and trying to immerse herself in a more spiritual environment. Unfortunately, the attractiveness of the shrine maiden didn't really help her focus. It was fortunate for Alisa that the shrine maiden's expression wasn't particularly inviting nor that entirely friendly, which helped her calm down a little.
This was why she stood still and acted incredibly polite and stiffly. "Good day. I'm just here to visit and make my donations. I haven't been visiting as much as I should be. Things have changed for me ever since my parents were killed..."

Kagome squinted her eyes slightly as she looked at the brunette. There was something off about her. Something that Kagome couldn't quite place. That and a small sense of familiarity made the girl come off a bit odder than the usual person that visited her shrine. Especially since the ones that most often visited were individuals that were down on their luck or, more preferably in her own mind, the elderly. Regardless, her words seemed sincere enough, even if she was overly polite and stiff in her way of speaking. "I'm sorry to hear that about them. But relax, this is a Shrine, not a business meeting." She'd normally say something more like 'graveyard', but that would be a very poor word choice here. That said... "At any rate, we always welcome donations and quite thankful for them. Take your time in your prayers, the spirits can be awfully mischievous sometimes." Her expression gained a hint of amusement. "...Actually though. You have visited here before, haven't you? I feel like I recognize you, but I can't quite put a name to the face. I am Kagome Saitō, miko of the Shiranoma Shrine."--- Tags: ALISA AYAKURA

Alisa shrugged and fidgeted with the pockets on her jacket. She inwardly sneered upon the mention of mischievous spirits - after all, she had mentally bonded with the essence of Ongyo-ki, an oni with mastery over stealth and said to be the progenitor of ninjutsu in Japanese lore. Of course, it would be catastrophic it suddenly forced its influence if it took offense. Fortunately, nothing happened, it seemed to be that it was much more patient than Alisa gave it credit for. A mere trifling remark. its voice boomed out in her mind. Of course nobody aside from her could hear that. Alisa's expression betrayed her innermost thoughts as she appeared calm and collected, giving the shrine maiden a faint smile.
"Yes, I've visited here from time to time. The name's Alisa Ayakura. Pleasure to meet you in earnest, shrine maiden Saitou." Alisa greeted the miko back with a perfunctory bow and nod in acknowledgement.

"Ah, the Ayakura. That'd explain it. I remember seeing you a few years ago. You had longer hair." Kagome seemed to ramble a moment before nodding after Alisa did so. "Well, at any rate, no sense in standing on the stairs. Come on, come on." She absentmindedly gestured for Alisa to follow after her, heading towards the main shrine building proper. The grounds themselves were a modest sort of big, the main courtyard consisting of a carefully maintained inlayed stone path. Three torii overlooked the path, sanctifying the route from the entrance of the grounds to the Shrine itself. Sakura trees dotted the landscape and to the northwest of the shrine was Kagome's home with its own small path to and from the shrine. There was also an eastern building, part dojo and part storage, actually. Finally, there was the relatively sizeable pond behind the shrine itself where koi were allowed to swim in peace. Stepping up onto the porch of the shrine and opening the sliding door, Kagome gestured once more for Alisa to come inside. Slipping off her geta at the entrance of the interior she set them aside and guided Alisa further in after the brunette did the same. In the central room of the shrine, the traditional interior was there for both visitor and miko to see. Kagome stood to the side and gestured a third time, this time for Alisa to go about her prayers. "If you are not in a rush, I can go prepare some tea as well."--- Tags: ALISA AYAKURA

Alisa didn't recall interacting with the shrine maiden in the past, so she was rather surprised that she recalled that in a previous time, Alisa did indeed have longer hair. It was around the time after the accident shortly after Alisa had survived it without her parents. She had her hair shortened in an attempt to cut away the bindings of the past and to resolve to move onwards. It was a cliche, very boring process but Alisa was never a huge romantic. It was a personal reminder for her and she was satisfied with that. In fact, Alisa was rather impressed that Kagome had even recalled it as such. Though obviously the investigator never made any of that clear on her face or her mannerisms. Following the shrine maiden towards the building proper, Alisa once again took in the vaguely familiar scenes of nature that seemed everlasting. The structure of distinctly eastern architecture even added to the effect of seemingly rustic beauty.
Alisa took off her boots after Kagome entered the interior. Continuing in, Alisa heaved a deep sigh of some indistinguishable emotion as the miko offered to make some tea. As Alisa didn't plan on leaving so quickly, she nodded politely with a smile but did not say anything. For some reason, she was slowly adopting the habits of people back during the time period of Ongyo-ki. She quietly stepped forward and silently stood still, a fair, respectable distance from the actual shrine offering space. She hung her head low and seemed to be thinking about something...

"I shall leave you to your prayers then. When you are ready, I will be waiting in the foyer."Kagome politely replied in turn before stepping out of the room. She proceeded to the other side of the shrine, entering into a small kitchen-like area from back before the new house nearby the shrine had been built. She made sure to keep it stocked with non-perishable goods for when visitors came by the shrine that wished to stay awhile and chat with her. Normally that meant the elderly, usually simply desiring little more than the company. Something that she did not mind giving them, patiently hearing out their stories and even sharing some of her own. Regardless, she set the tea to brew upon an old fashioned stove. There was nothing else to do but wait. After a bit longer, she decided to check upon Alisa, heading back towards the prayer room. --- Tags: ALISA AYAKURA

Alisa was musing about her dead parents and the bonding "contract" she had with Ongyo-ki, though at this point in time it couldn't really be treated as such anymore. It was indeed a cooperation. Unfortunately it was not entirely straightforward and aboveboard, since Ongyo-ki still didn't tell Alisa what it really wanted to accomplish by combining forces with her. After all, she was still just a regular person with some extra talents without its power and influence. As if anticipating Kagome's approach, Alisa turned around a few moments before Kagome would head into the prayer room. At this point, Alisa would have gone to look for Kagome anyway. Since the encounter with the Brit Marian and that noodle store guy, Alisa was more curious about the pocket space dimension. It seemed to be a part of the world, yet not. Even Ongyo-ki needed time to process the phenomenon, let alone Alisa. Perhaps it was a sign of spiritual rebellion, this kind of superstition was now something Alisa could entertain as within the realm of possibility.
"Can we talk, Miss?" Alisa asked the shrine maiden politely. "I have some questions..."

As Kagome narrowed her route to just a few steps away from the prayer room, Alisa emerged. She bore a look of troubled contemplation and the first thing that she did was ask if they could talk. She said that she had questions. Kagome wasn't sure what they were or if she could provide any answers, but then some people just needed to let it out sometimes. They weren't necessarily looking to her for answers, but for a sympathetic ear to give them the time of day. Which aspect Alisa was going to be was something she'd simply have to find out. "Sure. This way to the foyer." She led Alisa past the entrance hall and down the opposite path towards the prayer room. Opening another sliding door, a modest foyer was present, not too big, but not too small with a table and sitting pillows present. "Please have a seat. I'll go get the tea now." Kagome would proceed to do just that, returning with a kettle and a pair of clay mugs. Pouring for both Alisa and herself, she gave Alisa a filled cup first before scooting her own closer to herself. "Now, what's troubling you?"--- Tags: ALISA AYAKURA

Alisa quietly followed Kagome over to a different part of the structure, a homey looking foyer space with some sitting pillows around a table. Politely nodding to the shrine maiden, Alisa sat in seiza position on one of the pillows, waiting for her to get the tea. She returned with a kettle and a pair of clay mugs, one of which Alisa took carefully and took a single deep sip from. "Good tea," Alisa nodded and complimented the drink before heading into the matter at hand. "I'm sure you must have realized that something is not right in our neighbourhood. The city is undergoing changes," Alisa started, having experienced the weird insanity of the alternate space, she had a feeling that what she had gone through was something not exclusive to a handful of people. It could be happening to anyone at any time. "People are disappearing for periods of time, reapparing in generally bad states thereafter. It's something that can't merely be explained by scientific means."
Alisa took another sip from the tea. "In short, I have reason to entertain the possibility that the source of these disappearances are the result of something out of our imagination... I've experienced some things that have changed my beliefs a little bit. Magic and spiritual forces, stuff that is normally treated as a joke by ordinary people... They are definitely a real thing." Alisa knew that the guy who owned a noodle shop could contract with demonic entities, that was at least how Ongyo-ki had explained it to her before when they saw his inugami.
"Have you seen or experienced anything off that might add any credence to this theory? Surely, as shrine maiden and caretaker of this sacred place, if I may be so presumptuous as to assume..."

"Thank you." Kagome replied to the compliment before Alisa finally started in on her concerns. And what concerns they were. The recitation of the rumors that had been going around concerning this incident was nothing new to Kagome. Of course those that regularly visited the Shiranoma Shrine had talked about them with her before. She'd usually just given them a bit of reassurance, a free charm, and sent them on their way. But she could already feel that this girl was trying to get at something more. And more came, just as she predicted. "Hm." Kagome's eyes didn't betray her emotions, her face still wearing her normal look. At this point, Alisa would probably be able to assume that it really was just a natural resting expression for the Saitō miko, odd as it was. "Then let me ask you this first. What 'experiences' have you had recently?"--- Tags: ALISA AYAKURA

Alisa raised an eyebrow, before flashing a smile towards Kagome. Of course, even in the world of information gathering, one had to be prudent in their approach. It would be too unrealistic to expect the shrine maiden to be so easily cooperative, especially with a matter so sensitive. However, the first step was to elicit a proper interest. It was useless if the person you were trying to get intelligence from wasn't interested in even talking to you. Furthermore, Alisa knew she was being too mysterious. She didn't explain anything more in the first place, so how could Kagome give Alisa what she wanted? " I'm not going to lie, if I talked about this so casually, it would be treated as a lunatic's ramblings," Alisa chuckled in an almost resigned, melancholic manner. She didn't pay too much attention to Kagome's expression, which seemed a bit odd, since even Alisa couldn't get a strong read on it. " Let me put it this way. This type of phenomenon is most likely to occur during stormy inclement weather. Reality is distorted, it is like entering a different layer of the world - one which is more dangerous, more sinister. It would be like if a strange ripple bridging the gaps between worlds were to appear next to me, and upon entering it, you would still be 'here,' but not exactly 'here.'" Alisa explained. " There were spirits, ghosts, some strange creatures, were they even demons? I couldn't even tell you precisely what they were. But they were dangerous." Alisa conveniently omitted the part where she was with a demon summoner and a kid who had awakened her own power, since they weren't related to her query. " Fortunately, I was able to leave after finding another ripple-like rift, it really defied common sense." Alisa sighed. * KAGOME SAITŌ

" I'm not going to lie, if I talked about this so casually, it would be treated as a lunatic's ramblings." "Undoubtedly." Kagome replied with a faint disinterest in her tone. Nonetheless, when Alisa continued on, her words contained the kind of information that only she and the Kuzunoha were expected to know. And if this girl had figured out the details, who else had been able to? And yet, it felt like there was something she was leaving out. Or rather not just one something, multiple somethings. It was hard to determine what at the moment, but there was still a genuineness to her words along with the accuracy of certain details. "No sense in denying it then. Yes, there are some strange supernatural happenings around Sanyo. And if you've seen that much, then my next words should be no surprise to you. You should not engage this any further. Though I am not certain of what is going on myself, I and a certain group of people authorized to deal with matters like this are already working on the problem and trying to determine the source so that we may deal with this swiftly."Kagome stared Alisa dead in the eyes. "While this matter may defy common sense, I encourage you to listen to yours."--- Tags: ALISA AYAKURA
