Chikabane Saya & Sakura - Kayo's youngest, twin sisters, both 9 years old. They're in 4th grade.
AppearanceAt 5'9", Kayo is uncharacteristically tall for a Japanese woman. She has a shapely, curvaceous build that stands out among her family and her peers, and her preference for tight-fitting clothing help it to stand out even more. She has purple eyes, and long, wavy purple hair, that shifts in color to brown past her shoulders. Her manner of dress is such that only someone with her level of confidence could pull off - form-fitting dresses that allow her to show off, occasionally accented by a fur (or at minimum fur-lined) coat. All of this goes out the window when she's riding though, and she'll switch out her fancy clothes for a skin-tight bikesuit.

Sayo is the type of person who believes life is foremost meant to be enjoyed. Her philosophy is that you can be the hardest working person in the world, but if you are not satisfied with your life and your day to day, you're only hurting yourself. Because of this, while she's as studious and dedicated as she needs to be, she will always find the time (or make it, in some cases) to do what she wants. Usually this involves some manner of thrilling activity, such as riding around town on her motorcycle, or spending time with her family. Sayo is extremely close with her family. Though recently she has developed a particularly strong connection with Chiyo, she will dote on and even spoil all of her siblings, and interacts with her parents on respectful but friendly terms.
She has very little shame. Though not promiscuous in the least (she's already decided who her heart belongs to and will give it to no one else) she nonetheless has no problem drawing gazes to herself. She also doesn't bother to hide her hobbies or her interest in other girls, but takes both good and bad responses to them in such a stride and with such confidence that it has to be respected. Though she can be quite daunting on first meeting, she's quite sociable, difficult to upset, and loves meeting people.
HistorySayo has had a fairly ordinary life. She was raised in a loving an accepting family, and fell into the older sibling roll so smoothly that she still occasionally jokes about being a 'professional onee-chan'. She did well in school and could have gone to university in Tokyo, but stayed in Sanyo in order to stay close to her family and easily made it into Asame University instead. If anything was unusual about her life, it came from Sayo herself. Her hobbies and interests were atypical for a girl her age right from the start. While she didn't mind cooking or sewing or playing with dolls, she preferred excitement. And for a time, she was an outsider among girls her age because of this. But she quickly learned to take it all in stride, and won friends, boys and girls alike, through sheer confidence. It is perhaps this confidence that allowed Sayo to handle later hardships so well.
They wouldn't come right away, of course. Sayo was well into university before anything went wrong in the bustling city of Sanyo. Working on an engineering degree, Sayo adjusted to the college life well, although she quickly learned that anyone who claimed that university would be easy street after high school was either lying or clueless. The fog and rumors surrounding it didn't affect her too much, although when she first heard a rumor of someone disappearing and turning up barely alive the next day, she started to become concerned. Her worries led her to become extra careful about making sure her family was safe and sound. Chiyo, by this point, was living with her, but her visits and calls to the rest of her family became more frequent. But, nothing in particular ever happened to her.
That was, until she saw Chiyo disappear right before her eyes one day.
Sayo had run into her sister by chance while out riding that foggy night, only to watch her vanish from the street before she could get her attention. Riding towards the spot, she ended up passing through a strange heat mirage, and ending up in an empty part of the street. But Chiyo had already run off, leaving only the sound of punching and shouting to suggest where she was. Sayo followed the trail, moving slowly to avoid being caught off-guard by anyone lurking nearby, but failed to spot her sister. It was when Sayo finally started to panic that a shadowy figure started to form before her, taking on her the appearance of a hulking monster of a humanoid wearing a comparatively very small mask. Sayo was having none of whatever the creature intended, though, and immediately floored the gas to run over the motorcycle. But this only resulted in her being thrown from it and smashed against the pavement.
Sayo only barely registered that she was dying. As long as her family was safe, what happened to her didn't matter. If sitting there and letting the monster finish her off meant that Chiyo would be safe from it long enough to escape, that would have been acceptable to her. But, she realized, Chiyo was still not there, and there could be others. She resolved then that she couldn't die there no matter what, and a spirit heard her resolve and came to her aid. Sayo only saw her for a moment - a beautiful woman who conjured celtic runes around her and carried a pair of red spears - before the two women merged together. Sayo got to her feet, mounted her motorcycle, and manifested her spears to run the monster through. Then, drawn to the roar of the motorcycle's engine, Chiyo showed up just in time for the monster to dissolve. She explained what was going on, in her...own way, and Sayo recognized that what had happened to her and what had happened to Chiyo were fundamentally different, but still a similar strain of supernatural occurrence. But as far as Sayo was concerned, she had gained the power to protect her family should a disaster that truly threatened them. And it was one she was ready and willing to make use of.
EquipmentKayo has the most experience at the current time with a training spear. When chanelling Scathach's power in a Prison, she can manifest a pair of very real red spears instead.
Notes-Lives in an apartment near Asame University. Chiyo lives with her, and Sayo regularly gives Chiyo rides to school before her own classes.
