((Open to anyone at Mishiro High, but especially students in class 3-A))
Mary leaned back at her desk as the last class finally ended. She let out a sigh of relief. The day had been...tiring. Not so much because it was more than she expected, but just the usual exhaustion of adjusting to a new environment that she'd had to endure multiple times before. Although the weight of potentially having to be here for a full year rather than the half year she had left back home was starting to settle on her as well. Also the school's uniform didn't quite suit her - it felt too tight in certain areas and the fact that it was never given a description didn't help either.
Other than that, though, it had been a good day. She'd been called up to the front to introduce herself during homeroom, which surprised her, but she'd managed to surprise some of her classmates in return with her fluent Japanese (although she still said her name in her native English accent). Due to being only a short time into the school year, she was able to pick up quickly on where all of her courses were. Some of them she was familiar with already, while others were completely new to her. And of course, English was going to be an easy A. To some students she'd have seemed to disappear during lunch, although others had found her on the rooftop.
"Hmm...what to do now..." Now, though, the last class had ended, and Mary was left in her classroom as most of the class made their way out. Some of them still hung around, and club activities would be starting soon (not that she could do much about that yet), so mingling or trying to find her way around the rest of the school were both possibilities.

A new girl had transferred into the class, introduced herself as Marian Wilson, which she pronounced in her native English accent. As someone whose mother was also from Europe, Shizuka wasn't really intimidated or puzzled by the fact she could speak such fluent Japanese. And some people might be even more intimidated by his mother's Swedish accent. Due to his parents influence, Shizuka's grasp on English could be considered to be a notch better than your average Japanese person, and he inwardly decided he would try to communicate with the new girl in English to try and train his own grasp on the language. The last class had finally ended and as the students were filing out either to go home (for the infamous 'Knocking Off Club') or going to club activities, Shizuka was about to leave himself when he saw the English girl left almost alone in the classroom, it seemed clear she was thinking about her own plans for the day. Shizuka slowly approached her and curtseyed - note that he's wearing the girls' uniform for the school. " Hi, how are you doing?" Shizuka asked Marian in English, though the accent was a very awkward mix between your usual Japanese accent and some tinge of Swedish, undoubtedly from his mother. " You thinking about clubs?" * MARIAN WILSON

While Mary was pondering what to do with the rest of her first day, she caught sight of someone approaching her. She seemed to be a girl with a hint of European to her features, but she couldn't quite place where. Nor, for that matter, could she be completely certain that this person was a girl when they finally talked. She, or possibly he, addressed Mary in English, albeit in an accent that seemed like it had taken a few back and forth trips between Sanyo City and Stockholm. "I'm doing well enough for my first day. And thinking, yes," Mary said, turning to her classmate and smiling. She spoke in English, since they did, which made her own English accent very distinct. "I don't know what is or isn't open for new members right now, though. That and I don't really know my way around the school yet. I've only managed to find the faculty office and my classroom so far."She tilted her head, looking over her classmate again. "Are you Swedish,by chance? I hear a bit of it in your accent."SHIZUKA NIKAIDOU

Shizuka smiled at Mary when she replied back in English. It seemed she was more comfortable in speaking the language that she was spoken to. Her English accent was quite strong, something Shizuka couldn't help but keep in mind, it really was strong. Perhaps it was just simply a funny feeling that she was in the same class as a young English girl whose Japanese was surprisingly strong. " I'd be OK with showing you around," Shizuka smiled and nodded. When Mary asked him if he was Swedish, Shizuka tilted his head, a bit surprised that she could figure out that he had some Swedish blood in him. " Well, my mother is Swedish. My father is Japanese, so that makes me... Half-Swedish." Shizuka nodded at Mary when he spoke, a bit slowly this time as he was trying to get the words to describe what he wanted to say. " Why do you ask?" * MARIAN WILSON

Ahh. Half-Swedish. That would explain the bit of Japanese in his accent as well. "It's in your accent. I was in Stockholm for a week last year and it was just familiar enough for me to notice. And it would've been nice to not be the only European in this school, even knowing the language I do feel a little bit out of place like this." Well, that wouldn't actually bother Mary as much as she made it sound. She was used to being the odd one out, albeit usually for personality reasons rather than physical ones. She wasn't going to start on that just yet, though. No need to give people reason to think she was a Strange Person on her very first day. Even if she already fit the stereotype of the Mysterious Transfer Student. "I would be happy for you to show me around though, if you don't mind," she added after a moment more. SHIZUKA NIKAIDOU
