Alisa didn't seem to take the grave tone of Kagome to heart even though she seemed to imply that it was a mess that Alisa neither had the power nor the rights to interfere in. Though this kind of thing probably had nothing to do with the accident that got her parents killed and was the pistol shot that ignited the contract between herself and Ongyo-ki, it was still her responsibility to answer to the clients who had asked her about the disappearances. Furthermore, the mention of a possible arbiter group or organization set off red flags inside her mind. Years of training and education under her mother taught her that whenever organizations or groups or syndicates were 'authorized' to handle events like these, it was tantamount to a cover up or at least investigation of an unscrupulous nature. Alisa had half a mind to deliberately provoke Kagome and reveal her ability, but she thought better of that particular method of provocation as at the moment it might incite a conflict between herself and Kagome. This was not what Alisa wanted to accomplish. Unfortunately, Alisa didn't get the answers she sought either. " I'm disappointed," Alisa shrugged and sighed in lament. " I thought I could get some answers, but instead I'm given a perfunctory public relations response of no real substance. I was hoping to have a form of mutual cooperation, but it looks like it can't be reached today. Common sense stopped applying to me since the car accident that killed my parents. Perhaps in a different time, I would have followed your advice." Alisa's eyes gave off a multi-color glint at that moment, unfortunately it wasn't intentional. Ongyo-ki surely sensed Alisa's anger at the time and took action for itself. " Unfortunately for you, I now am obligated to find the truth for myself on behalf of those who have come to me in search of their own answers." * KAGOME SAITŌ

Kagome just craned her head back and groaned audibly, no doubt an act that Alisa entirely didn't expect. "You're one of those vengeful and paranoid types, aren't you? Just like that American thing with the manbat or whatever."Kagome leaned her forward again and she sighed. "Look, I could take you to meet the people, alright? You're not gonna get anywhere alone and frankly, I think they're all kinda idiots. Most of them are idiots. Anyways. They're not some shadowy organization of modern day government murder ninjas, alright?" Kagome shrugged, the tone of her previous words being almost too blunt. "So, what's your deal? The eye thing. Don't think I'm an idiot and just answer it. I could already feel that the air was off about you. And do remember that you're on sacred ground right now."--- Tags: ALISA AYAKURA

Alisa's mouth twitched a little. You gave yourself away, it's not like you to do so. Alisa mentally connected to Ongyo-ki. She was not that irreverent as to start some shit right inside the shrine. Ongyo-ki might have been audacious enough to do that as a powerful oni of stealth and potential progenitor of ninjutsu, but Alisa had better sense than that. She also didn't know whether to laugh or cry upon Kagome comparing her to that American comic book vigilante with a very distinct bat motif. Alisa herself knew she had similar type of training, but she definitely wasn't the kind to seek vengeance with such violent means. Did you get offended, or something, kid? I simply reacted to your emotional change. Alisa rubbed her glabella when Kagome bluntly offered to have her meet those fellows. " I... didn't mean to imply that they were such." Alisa backpedalled a little bit, aware that she was given an inch yet she tried to take a mile. She was very well aware of her current situation. She idly looked up at the ceiling. Then she looked straight into Kagome's eyes " Really, I didn't figure you to have such a temper. Guess I know better now. Well, it looks like I don't have a choice." Ongyo-ki's phantom aura emerged slightly from Alisa's body. " I'm contracted to a powerful ancient spirit. I won't go into the details as to what that spirit is especially on this hallowed ground, but I think that a picture speaks a thousand words. I don't normally just do this, but I know when I'm driven into a corner." Alisa simply shrugged, quickly retracting the aura afterwards. * KAGOME SAITŌ

" Really, I didn't figure you to have such a temper." "Everyone's got one." Kagome shrugged again before her expression went back to her neutral vaguely-maybe-sorta-kinda-possibly angry expression. Eyeing the aura that Alisa began to emit though, Kagome drank a bit of her tea. "Possession then, huh? Or something like it. Interesting." It was different from the usual sort of cooperation between Humans and Spirits, but it was one that she'd heard of before. Or something like it, perhaps. This was a different sort of thing to possession, albeit reminiscent of it. "And this contract. How'd you obtain it? A summoning? Combat with with what lurks in the fog?"--- Tags: ALISA AYAKURA

Alisa might have called it possession at first, but now it was more of a symbiotic cooperation. While Alisa was still not totally aware of Ongyo-ki's end-game, she knew she could take advantage of its power to grow and eventually, if its goal was not a good one, Alisa would have to find a way around it. As far as Alisa knew though, in the folklore, Ongyo-ki was simply a summoned servant who was soon de-summoned due to a poem. It was likely that Ongyo-ki might have had its own aspirations, but not necessarily those that are evil. As if interpreting her thoughts, Ongyo-ki's voice bellowed out. Kid, you are sure persistent. I will tell you about it in the future. Right now, we have bigger things to worry about.Alisa sighed. " I was just lucky. I survived the car accident which killed my parents since we had angered a rich, dirty man. I should tell you, we had a kind of investigation agency. Now, it's just me doing the investigating, though. Anyway, we got dirt on this guy, who was so offended he planned an accident to try and kill all three of us at once. Now, he didn't expect me to survive, but I was comatose, so he might as well think I was dead. I thereby obtained the contract by sheer force of will to survive. Vengeance was not part of the agenda at the time, but a will to live. The spirit heard my pledge, perhaps..." Alisa trailed off for a moment. Only Ongyo-ki knew why did it form the Guardian force link with Alisa. " Well, I don't know why it did it. But we agreed, spiritually, to cooperate with one another. It would grant me life, and eventually, later on when that fellow finally tells me what it wants... I'll help fulfill its wishes." KAGOME SAITŌ

Hmmm... Unconnected entirely from the supernatural spaces. Or perhaps it wasn't, since they were an investigation agency. That latter part being what it was, it was possible the angry rich guy was just some coincidence. Or maybe her line of thinking was entirely wrong. But either way, she did feel a bit more empathy for Alisa's loss. And more curiosity towards the spirit that Alisa had agreed to work with. "I see... Well, your family's practice should be welcome amongst the Kuzunoha then." She drank a bit more of her tea. "But be wary of the deals you make with the spirits. For they are very fickle. What they believe is "best" is not always so for a human."Granted, there was trustworthy spirits. Ones who valued their relationships with humanity. But she did not know who or what this spirit was that Alisa had cut a deal with. "At any rate. I'll have to get in touch with the Kuzunoha then. Might be a day or several for all I know."--- Tags: ALISA AYAKURA

Kagome gave Alisa a very fair warning, indeed, Alisa didn't know what exactly did Ongyo-ki want. But in the several years that they had been cooperating, it had never done anything wrong to her. Perhaps it was simply biding its time, but Alisa would worry about that when she got to that particular bridge. " Well, I'll definitely keep what you say in mind." Ongyo-ki was silent as Alisa nodded and took what the shrine maiden said in stride. When she agreed to contact the group known as the Kuzunoha, Alisa nodded politely and gave a short bow. " Well, thank you for the consideration at least. If this thing ends up being truly that dangerous and threatening to people in general, we need to build up our strength so that we can take action instead of simply taking a look." * KAGOME SAITŌ
