This is Sanyo news! The warmth of summer has just arrived, the odd chill that was spring is now gone! We got some strange news for you rumor mongers though. It seems that there is a cherry blossom tree atop the Bubble. All attempts to have it taken down seem to have failed. For now it still seems to be under investigation.

Kagome stands at a height of 5' 4" and has a sleight frame, her skin a paler color than usual due to being a primarily indoor type of person. Her hair is a deep violet color and her eyes are a stark, crimson red. She tends to wear simpler clothing when she bothers going out or doesn't have actual duties to attend to. When she's attending to the Shrine, be it simply cleaning up, selling some charms, or performing a ritual, she dresses in the proper attire of a Shrine Maiden.

The first thing to realize about Kagome is that she isn't exactly a nice person. A bit gruff, her resting expression tends towards a look of boredom or dismissal, often causing one to mistake her for being a bad mood. While this isn't far from the truth in recent days, Kagome has been noted to seem quite distant at times as well. But if one gets to talking with her, they can find that Kagome is actually a pretty optimistic person, both believing and making plans to ensure that things turn out for the better. She's also a firm believer in listening to her inner intuition and using it to guide her to the outcome that she desires along with the keen intellect that she shows. Additionally, she's quite the homebody and isn't particularly social in general. On the other hand, she has a dry wit, being rather snarky once she does start talking.

Located in the Sun District, just outside of the residences and nearer to the edge of the city is located the Shimonaru Shrine. Watched over by the Saitō Clan, the shrine is smaller than the mysterious Mitsuboshi Temple, but perhaps a more popular spot for those who pay heed to the spirits of the land or want a simple bit of good luck in their coming days. Granted, this popularity is at least partially because of the fact that the Shiranoma Shrine is simply the closer place to go. [break][break] Nonetheless, the Saitō Clan are a proud group that both maintains the Shrine and helps those in spiritual need. They are also close allies with the Kuzunoha located in Sanyo, aiding them in the matters of Demons and other monstrous entities that seek to bring harm or ruin to humanity. For this reason, they are also practicioners of what the Kuzunoha call, "Devil Summoning". Though in the case of the Saitō they beseech the aid of Kami befitting their own spiritual beliefs. [break][break] This brings us to the current day life of Kagome Saitō, the latest in line to receive the heritage of the Saitō Clan. Raised to follow the path set before her, Kagome was always an intelligent and determined girl. She had even earned admission into the prestigious Futaba High on her first attempt at their entrance exams, graduating at the top of her class. From an onlooker's perspective, Kagome seemed poised to do great things with her future. The truth however, is a little more complicated. [break][break] Kagome has fallen into something of a rut in her life, having grown uncertain about her path forward. While Kagome continues to uphold her family's traditions and works alongside the agents of the Kuzunoha Office, Kagome has been growing quietly discontent with it all. Feeling like she had not been able to actually decide her own way in life, Kagome has reached a period where she needs to act in order to stop whatever phenomena plagues Sanyo, but also plagued with both boredom and anxiety born from complacency.
Inside of a Prison, Kagome adopts both a particular weapon and a particular outfit for her work. [break][break] Primary Weapon: Azusa Yumi - The traditional bow of a Shrine Maiden, Kagome is proficient with it from her training as a Shrine Maiden and deadly with it from her years in the Archery Club while in school. This particular bow was hand-carved by Kagome as part of familial traditions. It is made of cherry wood and thanks to its construction, her bow is both weapon and musical instrument. (Pierce) [break][break] Secondary Weapon: Sacred Treasure of The Saitō Clan - A signature weapon of her Clan when combating spiritual threats, the Sacred Treasure of her family looks like three small golden triangles framed around amethyst stones. And when not faced with the supernatural, this is all that they appear to be. When faced with it however, the triangles magnify in size, becoming three large metallic plates that circle around in the form of a golden halo behind Kagome, being able to defend her from an attack and fly out a short distance to attack in her stead. (Strike) [break][break] Armor: Saito Miko Garb - A particular outfit passed down within the Saitō Clan, it's on the revealing side for Kagome's tastes. Nonetheless, the outfit is worn due to a belief that the Saitō Mikos are able to better attune to the powers of their spiritual allies by showing their purity of both spirit and body. As Kagome can intrinsically feel how true this belief is, she begrudgingly continues to wear the outfit for her work. This outfit also includes an odd golden footwear and a metallic & crystalline headdress that resembles an oni's horn.
-Kagome has her drivers license. [break] -The Saitō Clan helps to maintain the curious Mitsuboshi Temple when not busy with their own shrine. [break] -Rather than living in the familial home, Kagome instead lives in a small home located behind the shrine due to inheriting the duties of being the Shiranoma Shrine Maiden. Nonetheless, it's not terribly far from the main household and the shrine itself if she needs to go there. [break] -The Saitō Clan also continues to practice an old tradition of speaking in a unique, secret language. They use it for ritualistic purposes and other such magical arts. [break] -Kagome keeps both allied spirits and dangerous demons sealed within a series of specially crafted and enchanted ofuda. These ofuda are kept within a small container on her person.
Megido - A spell that doles out light Almighty magic damage to all of Kagome's foes. [break] Media - A spell that allows Kinmamon to heal all of Kagome's allies' minor wounds.
Also known as "the God from Beyond the Sea, Marebito," it is an enigmatic god from Japanese lore. It is related to Amaterasu, which is implied from the few known sources of Kinmamon. Kinmamon is an enigmatic and mysterious deity of Ryuku shinto, which is practiced on the Ryuku islands. Its connections with sea travel and suggestion that it brought life to the Ryukyu Islands imply that it was a deity introduced from across the sea. Kinmamon's name means "The True One" which is believed to be a title for shrine maidens, leading to the belief that Kinmamon is the deity of shrine maidens. [break][break] For one nebulous reason or another, Kinmamon has heeded the call of Kagome for an ally in her work.
