 "Information please."What was a common sight is Meili visiting this office right after school. On her person would be her school bag and a large duffle bag. Unbeknowst to many, the duffle bag contains a spare change of cloths and a jian sword. The only ones who know of the purpose of these items are those residing within the Kuzunoha office. She opened the door and glanced around. As always there was a front desk, a couch and table for visitors and a desk at the back for whoever was managing the office at the moment with doors to spare rooms on the side. Meili glanced about before she opened a door to one of the rooms and placed her belongings aside. It'd be improper to just leave them in the lobby even if she was here to wait for other Summoners.
It was a quiet day but that's because many are just getting off their schools or 'day jobs'. In the mean time Meili began to prepare some tea for herself. Jasmine as always and prepared her way. Come to think of it, she had to think about dinner provided she returned at a reasonable time. She walked out of the kitchen and glanced on over at the front door as it was about to open. She bowed politely to whoever was going to enter.

A common sight greeted Kaiji when he entered the Kuzunoha office, still munching on a riceball as part of his rather late lunch. As always, prim and proper Meili Jie was there before him, ready with her usual polite salutations. "Oh, you're here today too. What's up?" Kaiji said through the final mouthful of rice and seaweed. He eyed the couch as he entered, his spare hand running through his ruffled mane as he briefly considered it, before opting instead for the front desk. He lightly dropped his own duffel bag by the desk by his seat so that it would not get in anyone's way. He had seen Meili Jie around before, both in and around the Kuzunoha office as well as around town in general. The devil summoner community was hardly overflowing with members, after all, and with the Kuzunoha office centralising Sanyo's devil summoners, it was inevitable that they became familiar with each other in passing. That said, the two of them never had much interaction beyond greetings and other such courteous niceties, and the Arima heirling never much saw the need for it. Instead, he pulled out his V-Cube 6 from a pocket on his grey hoodie and continued working on the spiral pattern that he had started last night. Mao, however, was far less antisocial. The Neko Shogun – in its cat masquerade – lithely leaped onto the coffee table by the couch and turning around on the same spot like a cat normally would before turning to eye the girl. "Early as always, huh, Meimei? What's new today?" |

 "...""Oh, you're here today too. What's up?" Arima Kaiji. He was apparently from some long line of Devil Summoners much like Meili herself though his mannerisms didn't necessarily showed that. He conducts himself far too casually. She will have to remind him that the couch is for guests...as is the table now that it is being occupied by his familiar...
"Early as always, huh, Meimei? What's new today?" Even close observers it would seem that her expression has not budged...but Meili's eyes slightly slanted as for a pocket of a moment, she expressed immense contempt for the creature that left foot prints on the table for visitors. Meili quickly recovered as she explained herself.
"Jie." Meili corrected as she looked at the summoner fiddling with the cube. "As I said before, the coach and table are for guests, you're free to use the desks. On that note, please teach your familiar manners." Or I'll teach it manners myself. She thought. Meili went to one of the desks and sat on down. "Nothing new. Just disappearances and people being found borderline lifeless. A source is still being tracked."

Mao tilted its head with benign curiosity, before it nonchalantly hopped off the table and ducked under it, as a cat normally would do, before emerging shortly after and trotting toward Kaiji as if nothing was amiss.
"Nothing new. Just disappearances and people being found borderline lifeless. A source is still being tracked."
"So we're waiting on the trackers..." It hopped up to the desk that Kaiji was at, lying down to observe the the progress he was making, before suddenly perking back up. "Wait, aren't we supposed to be the trackers?"
"They're saving you for the main investigation, of course." Kaiji reassured the demon placidly, absorbed with applying the finishing touches to the pattern on the cube, subconsciously registering how narrowly the Neko Shogun had dodged its life-threatening predicament.
Ever the fearless little demon, Mao hopped over to the desk that Meili was on next. "We've been hearing a lot about these disappearances, and I've been telling Kaiji to look into it, but he keeps shrugging it off. You think there's any connection to it, Meijie?

 "Well...it's a step up""So we're waiting on the trackers...wait, aren't we supposed to be the trackers?"
"They're saving you for the main investigation, of course." That's a very generous assumption from the summoner to his familiar but then again, his demon has tracking abilities like her own. They'll likely both be sent out should more information come to the Kuzunoha Office's front desk. But for now, they have to be patient and investigate what they can. It is a tedious process but one that must be done.
"We've been hearing a lot about these disappearances, and I've been telling Kaiji to look into it, but he keeps shrugging it off. You think there's any connection to it, Meijie?" Meili stared at Mao again, once again secretly scathing at the cat's audacity to think it had any right to refer to her in any familiar manner...but it was a step up from Meimei so she'll let it go. For now. She pulled out a small notebook from her pocket and opened it.
"The missing victims and the victims found had no connections, these disappearing or re-appearances don't have a set pattern only that they're all happening in the City of Sanyo." She flipped a page. "We believe it is the work of something out there, the increased rumors of fog appearances and mirages do not help." She closed her note book. "That's unfortunately all we have. Any further would involve violation of privacy we aren't authorized to do if we try to get a look at the victims." It's a frustration but by the end of the day, they're not police.
